Are you looking for a drum machine? A sampler? A production station? If you have a good sampling workflow in FL already then I'd go with the MPD, since it'll integrate better with what you know already. It really depends on what you're looking for out of your pads. It still needs your computer but I believe it has more "classic" MPC workflow and is more of a standalone thing. The MPC Studio on the other hand is a full production unit. (I think it does come with new software and stuff but I never hear of people using that stuff) It can be pretty powerful I would think if you know how to use if properly, but it won't offer you any additional functionality - just help your workflow. Just some drum pads and knobs for controlling sounds in your DAW. You can use it with your DAW but that's it really. AFAIK the MPD226 is just a MIDI controller. ![]()
